Player Achievements for the Week

Player Achievements

Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week. We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself! Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:

  • Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and, if you like, add your Kinship if you have one.
  • Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
  • Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or cleared out the Tower of Orthanc. We want to hear from you!

These shout outs will appear in tomorrow’s recording of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast. You are welcome to join us live at 9:30pm Eastern on Saturday!

First time joining us live? See our post on how to join CSTM’s live broadcast.

Comments for this thread will be closed after recording as this is a weekly thing. If you missed this week’s cut off, don’t fret! A new thread just like this one will appear next Friday.

I managed to find time to log in every day to pick flowers and stomp shrews this week.

  2. Kalkilgest Says:

I finally got 2 full sets of the orthanc gear for my champion Finderch. Now both rune keeper Kalkilgest and my champion have 2 sets, time to start working on the third.

  3. Adam Says:

We did the Limlight Gorge intro quests on our dwarf trio. This included the fellowship marked quest where you have to look for various ore nodes and get jumped on by two trolls. These were not too bad in pairs, with our guard, minstrel and hunter set up. However, the last ore node sent threee trolls at us, and nearly caught us out! The trolls get a nasty buff which tiers up to rank 5 after a few seconds, increasing each of their damage, speed, and critical by a lot (50% damage and speed and 7500 critical total) this involved some carefull fearing, distracting and kiting, but we got the job done and had a lot of fun!

  4. Thurinphir Says:

Thurinphifnirol Swiftfoot (Resistance of Triple Rainbow (friend’s kin)) started and completed his (and my) first Carn Dûm run. It was PUG’d without anyone dropping out (mine did freeze though :( ) and we completed Chill of Bone (GYYYYB) at least half the time a FM came up

went all the way through the entire instance (someone said it’s larger than Fornost was) with only 1 wipe. on the last two stages Helchgam bit, everyone except the lvl 71 RK and me (lvl 56 LM) had died but we managed it (traited power drain + share the power :D )

Today, I bought more Weaver stuff with the sale (35% off!!) and got my first real kill (felt like I did it). mostly due to long-burrow’s +stealth level and Web the Earth’s after-effect, probably Venomous Haze or the oncoming orcs’ advance that forced her to retreat across the web (first satisfactory log-off on a blue map). this was at TR and I died before the KB. I did manage to get an ‘OOC: nice web’ message

another thing on my Weaver was a Lore-Master at ~50m range, long-burrowed and he got his friends to camp me ;) I did die with an accidental press of ‘Q’ after 7mins, also let me see their numbers :)

    Gilhildon DeadLegs

    • Thurinphir Says:

the Carn Dûm was with a lvl 56 lm, 54 burglar, 56 warden, 71 rk, 75 hunter, 75 champion

      • Thurinphir Says:

logged in on most of my characters, did some stuff on Thurindos (37 rk), Gilvanbeam (25 Landroval-captain) and Smuso (44 warden) and a small amount of stuffs on Gilhildon (rank 4 weaver)

  5. Riewest14 Says:

My level 45 lore master took on 4 level 49 spiders in angmar. Thought for sure I was dead but then I some how lasted until my heal was ready again and killed the rest of them.

Got my Captain up to 75 and ready for Draigoch; skirmished more than usual with my Guardian and completed some slayer deeds as well as did the Icy Crevasse for the first time (duo with a Minstrel friend); and managed to avoid the festival!

P.S. Character names! (all on Landroval, all members of The Knights Of The White Lady kinship) Captain: Bealdric Guardian: Luinori (my main)

Jonson Man Guardian and Taavi Dwarf Hunter both of Crickhollow each reached level 32 and completed Volume 1 Book 2.
Other than that just a bit of Spring Festivaling.

  9. Brainslug Says:

After having abandoned him for so long, I finally took my Hunter to lvl 75. Three days later he already stood face to face with Saruman himself in a epic battle on the top of orthanc :)

Still have no clue how long it’s going to take me this time to get those 1000+ seals I need for my ToO set (faron set <3)
I'm also uncertain which character I will be working on next once the hunter got his gear ready.

Greetings. Koffey the level 66 Warden on Elendilmir is now off finishing off the epic quest line in Mirkwood. She’s already gotten her Elf Ambassador Steed, so she finally has a mount that is 68%/250HP. Yeah! She’s also working on her tailoring. Gandast the level 41 LoreMaster has joined forces with our Kindred’s Monday Night group, so he’s given up leveling for fellowship for a while, and it’s much more fun this way. All of my Middle Earth “family” are members of Pathfinders, a wonderful Kindred. They are so helpful. They’ve talked my level 75 Guardian, Tolkyyn, through the Isengard instances, which I’m sure he would have failed without their coaching. Whenever any of my alts is in a pinch, they come and help, or give me just the advice I need to complete a quest. Go Pathfinders!

  11. Tony Says:

Not really all done in a week, but recently I finished the World Renowned deed and the Eriador horse that comes with it.

I’ve also been doing a lot of Moria instance deeds for the goat reward… Which included taking down the Watcher for the first time. It’s been fun. I never really got to do any of that stuff when it was new.

Hello! This is less of a player achievement as it is a group achievement… :) On June 13th, the Iron Axes, founded by the stout yet overly-fond-of-hobbits dwarf named Oaric (pronounced “Oh-are-ick”) will celebrate their first anniversary and hit Rank 10! In preparation for this heady event, we’re planning a weeks worth of fun and games, scheduled for both NA and EU play times.

The kin is on the Laurelin server, and was one of the first North American based kinships to form there after the server migrations (we’re also probably the most active as well).

As leader of this motley band of miscreants (not to mention the ever-hungry hobbits who constantly ransack my pantry and tap my kegs – I’m looking at you, Dinkum and Razo!), I’m personally very proud of this – this was the first time I’ve tried running a kinship, and we’ve had our ups and downs, as all kinships do. But overall the kin is a great group of friends from across the globe who all really enjoy playing Lotro. Literally – we have members from the US, all across the EU, Russia, Singapore, and Australia.

All of our celebratory events will be public, and a thread for it can be found on the Laurelin section of the Lotro forums (which will be updated shortly) if anyone is interested in stopping by. Likewise, if anyone is interested in checking out the Laurelin server, and you’re playing NA hours (or not), look us up!

    Hail to the Axes!
    Oaric, Aorik’s son.

  13. Saelyth Says:

I tanked 6 sarumans and finally KILLED him ¬¬ took me 8 months! xD

  14. Lemonic Says:

Today me and my kin buddies and another kin(on Gilrain)beat the watcher!!!!!!
At the start we got wiped about 5-6 times because most of us didnt do the Raid yet.But with Alexandera as our raidleader ;) we managed to get a deathless watcher round (after about 100 deaths :P)The loot wasnt that great but we all had some great hours of watcher fun!!!So once we all hit 75 we will try to clear out orthanc ;)
A special thx to all my kinmates for the awesome work they did today and I also want to thank Alaxendaras kin for the epic help!

  15. Limm Says:

I earned enough seals for my 5th piece of ToO armour on my RK Limmerien this week! Pretty exciting. Only one more piece to go! :)

  16. Elahedor Says:

My main is Elahedor Taterlord of Vilya. After being away on vacation and missing the first 4 days of the festival, I have managed to obtain enough tokens to purchase the horse and all the cosmetics, as well as enough Doom-shrooms & DRAGON to complete the deeds. Once I actually complete those deeds, I’ll have a full complement of festival skills. In addition, I got the last 4 maps and, at long last, completed the Eriador Cartophile deed. Moreover, I braved the tedious flower gathering quest and got the Steed of the Jester.

I also managed to get into an awesome group and completed the Roots of Fangorn on T2 – it was my first run through the instance. We then tackled Foundry on T2, and expanded into a raid to do the Fire & Frost wing of Orthanc on T1. It was a bit rough going, but we finally managed to do it. It was also my first time in that wing. I picked up new shoulder guards and the Empowered Anduin Mender’s Ring

Finally, I ran enough solo T1 Rescue in Nurz Gashu skirmishes to – at last – get kindred with the Eldgang. I am now kindred with every faction currently in Middle Earth. I picked up two Star-lit crystals along the way.

  17. Victor Stillwater Says:

I got my Ale Association Goat, and all before I have to go into Moria! (49 Warden) :D
