695-1,495
486-1,046

Store Location: Accounts → Quests & Content → Quest Packs
Levels:  51+

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Content on sale will almost always get a thumbs up. I can’t even think of an instance when it wouldn’t get a thumbs up. I want to make clear here is you are only going to get the quests for Isengard and Rohan.  MagonDead in the comments has stated that the expansions themselves are included in the sale!

100% XP Boost (1hr)

30% Off

Get more for your time with a 100% bonus to character, legendary item, and war-steed experience! Experience is earned from killing monsters & completing quests. This effect will last for 1 hour. Single and 5-stacks available.

150-600
105-420

Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: 10 +

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I believe this is the first time we’ve seen this item on sale. Even so it’s still just a “Meh” type item as there’s no real reason to rush through content. If you’re going to buy them, 30% off is not a bad sale to catch.

Enhanced XP Supply

30% Off

Increase your enhanced experience supply and battle on! Enhanced XP Supply is displayed as a blue section of your experience bar, and does not have a time-limit. Even stacks with other XP Boosts. Single and 10-stacks available.

75-600
53-420

Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: 7+

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: Talking with those who’ve used this, it’s sorta “meh”. It’s basically utilizing the stored or rested experience that VIPs get to give a blue bar on your experience bar of enhanced experience which just means a slight boost to mob kills.

VIP’s characters get this by simply not playing their character for a bit and it will build up, or they have the option to buy it with destiny points. This option is just to bring the same benefit to the free and premium friends and frankly, I think you are better suited spending your TP elsewhere. Nothing really wrong with it if you like them but think about it first.

This is probably preferred type of experience boost if you have limited playtime or experience a lot of interruptions. This isn’t time limited like the other boosters that give you a boost for a specified time. This will give you a boost for as long as that blue bar lasts, so you’re not rushed to get the most experience you can in a specific timeframe to get your TP worth of this bonus.

Outriders Token

30% Off

Get more credit for your kills! Use this permanent pocket item to grant your character a +25% bonus experience towards monster kills when equipped. This item binds to your character when equipped. Note: Players who purchased the Riders of Rohan Pre-Order Legendary Edition or Heroic Edition automatically receive this item on all characters, and should not buy it.

347

Store Location: Buffs & Boosts → Advancement → XP
Levels: 1 – 74

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: I actually own this token from pre-ordering the Riders of Rohan. On the whole, I do like this item. I’ve been using it on and off to help me keep up with the Dum group with my Burglar getting a bit of an experience boost when I notice folks starting to level and I have a ways to go.

It is a pocket item and so it does replace something that could be filled with stats. I typically do not use it for dungeon running (or at least a first try at a new dungeon for my group) preferring to use a stat item to make my character a smidge better. It is nice that because it is a pocket item I can choose when and where I use this 25% boost.

On the whole it gets a “meh” simply because I truly believe there is no reason to rush your leveling. It’s not a bad item but if you’re still on your first character, I highly suggest you do not rush to the end. Enjoy the journey through Middle-earth. I know I would love to be a newbie again and delight in exploring all there is to find in the world.

Task: Reset Daily Count

30% Off

Get back to work! Return your daily task count to 0, allowing you to complete your full daily complement of tasks again! Purchasing this item will create an item in your inventory, which you will have to use to reset your daily tasks.

100
70

Store Location: Character → Tasks
Levels: 2+

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: This may be for a limited audience. I can see someone who really wants to finish their task deeds may be willing to plunk down a few turbine points to get that much closer. It gets a meh simply because it really isn’t necessary.

Increase Task Limit

30% Off

Expand your horizons! Permanently increase the number of tasks that you can complete in any given day by one. You can never move beyond a maximum of fifteen tasks daily. 5 increases available for sale in the LOTRO Store!

150-250
105-175

Store Location: Character → Tasks
Levels: 8+

CSTM RECOMMENDATION: For those attempting to complete the deeds associated with tasks or may just enjoy the little extra experience / reputation turning them in affords it might possibly be worth buying. They get a meh from me simply because I find that tasks are completely skip-able and the task increase is only per character.

      Is there a sale I’m missing somewhere or is this a sale you were expecting?

      I don’t think the Triple-pack is able to be purchased in the LOTRO Store (this is a LOTRO Store sales post) and Rohan is on sale but it is only 30% off this week.

      I’d love a link if you found additional sales I didn’t see!

        You mentioned in your post that both Rohan and the Triple Pack were 50% off, yet this doesn’t seem to be the case in the LOTRO Market. Do you know if a sale is planned?

          ^This is what I was talking about :D. Maybe a typo in the original post? Or mystery sales abound?!?!

            I think the RoR sale referred in the post is about the Quest Pack in the TP store, supposedly at 50 % this week. I can’t exactly verify that pricing since I already have the expansion.

            The Triple Pack is indeed on sale on the Turbine web store, $29.99, down from the usual 40. No Rohan sales though.

          Ah I see. That was a copy paste error is all. I had intended to remove that piece and obviously forgot :D Sorry for the confusion. The sale is ONLY referring to the in-game LOTRO store purchase with TP. I looked on the web store and I do not see the Triple Pack on sale.

          Although it could happen if they do a special sale over PAX East weekend!

      I bought the triple pack at ~ 17 € (I am European so I can’t speak for the prices in dollars) back in September that it was on a 50% sale. Which means that the original price was around 35 € (the exact prices in euro vary depending on the additional tax) which is about the price of the triple pack I see now at Lotro Market:
      http://store.turbine.com/store/turbine/de_DE/list/id.CategoryProductListPage/categoryID.58516200
      (Yea every European *has* to know german or french to see the prices in the EU currency according to Turbine… :( )

      So I would say that right now there is *no* 50% off on the triple pack.

      I think that what got us all confused [Quoting: "30% off isn’t bad but if you need Moria, Mirkwood and Isengard, I’d recommend getting the Triple Pack (currently 50% off) instead of this sale – unless of course you’re sitting on a Smaug stash of TP."] is just a copy paste mistake. It happens :)

    The expansions (RoI and RoR) themselves are also for sale (1747 and 3007 TP), not only the related questpacks. (Probably MoM as well, but that didnt show up for me as I already had it.) I was kinda expecting this, so I was waiting a week after purchasing a great number of points last week, so I am a happy owner of these now. ;)

      Oh that’s fantastic. You know they need better naming on their things. When they say “Expansion Quests” I assume that means just the quest pack and I already own it all so I can’t see it in the store.

        A bit more clarification from me: both the questpacks that only contains the quests and also the whole expansion (with the respective instance cluster, skirmish traitline, light/heavy MC for Rohan, etc) is on sale (of course the whole expansion is more expensive, but still on 30% cheaper than originally was), so your original post was ok, this expansion thing is just an extra opportunity. Sorry if I was confusing.

          I understood you correctly and my post was wrong as I said only the quests were included. Your comment alerted me that the full expansions were also included despite the stupid naming of the sale.

        I can confirm you that the sale is not applicable to Moria Expansion.
        I think that it is on purpose because Turbine is always reluctant to put this one on sale. Why ? Maybe already a good saler so why putting it if you have people buying it at full TP.

    so there is this 1400 points rohan pack. if i buy this, how do i get all the other stuff from the 4000 points rohan pack?

      Goldenstar Says:

      No. That’s why it is priced differently. Like I said I can’t see them in the store but I’m guessing the 1400 TP version is just the quests. The larger version will have all the doo-dads such as the quests and the extra mounted combat trait lines, etc.

      1400 = Quests in Rohan
      * +400 Quests designed for levels 75-85

      4000 = All of Rohan Expansion
      * +400 Quests designed for levels 75-85
      * Instance Cluster: Rohan
      * Mounted Combat Light Trait Tree
      * Mounted Combat Heavy Trait Tree
      * Steed of the Eastemnet
      * Title: Friend of the Mark
      * Skirmish Trait Max Rank: 40

        yes the 1400tp pack is just the quests.

        BUT if i want to buy the 1400tp back now, how can i get the REST of the 4000tp pack later? can i only buy the 4000tp afterwards so that the 1400tp are wasted then?

      I probably won’t pick this up because it would just rot in my inventory since I never craft however, I suggest you check the following as it is the most common issue.

      Check that you are selecting the proper item and in the proper stack size. This is a craft of acceleration in a single stack. There are probably also 5 stacks or more.

    Thanks Goldenstar, the store name for this that I am trying to apply the coupon against is “Rapid Crafting Boost (1 min)” (I hate when they advertise it under one name, but its a different name in the store!!), its a single item. The response is “The code you entered is not valid.” I searched through all items using keyword of ‘craft’, this seemed to be the only candidate that fit.

    As a (relative) newbie who hasn’t even reached level 60 yet, I wanted to ask: does it make sense to buy the RoI expansion (instead of just the quest pack) anymore if I plan to buy the RoR expansion as well? Do the instances in Isengard get run much anymore since Rohan? What about Draigoch’s Lair? Do you need the Skirmish Trait Max Rank increase in RoI to get the level 40 increase with RoR? Apologize for all the questions and appreciate the help in advance!

    • Crell of Riddermark, Vanguard Says:

      If you plan to buy the Rohan expansion instead of the Rohan quest pack, the only reason to get the Isengard expansion is if you want to run those instances. Personally, I loved Orthanc, but whether or not you’ll get to run it now that it’s not level-cap really depends on your server and the people you hang out with.

        FWIW, I’m on Withywindle and the kin I’m a part of doesn’t seem to do much in the way of instancing/raiding. Not to say I won’t eventually change kins or find people to game with, but as my free time is a bit limited, I tend to mostly solo.

      I really don’t think the expansion worth the extra 700 extra TP it costs over the quest pack, but I still bought the expansion. Why? No really good reason, I just like to keep my options open regarding actual game content and 700 TP for the Isengard cluster + Draigoch Raid (normally these two costs 2500ish points!) was worth to me, even if more than likely I will never set foot in any of these instances. (Here is wishing for a cross-server instance finder..) Its like when I purchased Forochel last week. I played in that region pre-F2P, I liked it, but for my main char it was already done, and its not really needed for leveling up an alt. Still, its nice to actually know that I could go there. (I cannot rationalize it, I dont have several great things from store like Premium Wallet or inventory upgrades, and I am buying content I likely will never touch. Ah well. ;))

      For the skirmish thing, I am pretty sure you are maxed out with RoR skirmish trait upgrade, and don’t need the RoI one.

        I have the same inclinations, Magon. I actually would have purchased all remaining quest packs last week if my VIP subscription had not been ongoing (and had Turbine not refused to cancel it – they really don’t want to let you get those QP sales, apparently). Still, I find that I enjoy the quest content more than the instances thus far, and as I tend to play solo, I feel like maybe skipping the RoI instances wouldn’t be a major loss. Still have a bit of time to mull it over, I suppose.
