Player Achievements of the Week

Player Achievements

Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week. We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself! Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:

  • Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and, if you like, add your Kinship if you have one.
  • Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
  • Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or finished up Hytbold. We want to hear from you!

These shout outs will appear in tomorrow tonight’s recording of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast. You are welcome to join us live at 9:30pm Eastern! First time joining us live? See our post on how to join CSTM’s live broadcast. Comments for this thread will be closed after recording as this is a weekly thing. If you missed this week’s cut off, don’t fret! A new thread just like this one will appear next Friday.

This week, Fredelas opened more than 10,000 silver and gold hobbit presents on Bullroarer in an attempt to understand and document the system. You should see the muscles on my clicking finger now!

  2. Dan Says:

I came back to LOTRO a couple weeks ago after a one year absence. I hit level 60 last night and exited the Mines of Moria! Ahhh, the fresh air! I can’t wait to start diving into brand new content. Well, new to me anyway.

Cynwyon, HNT 75 of Nimrodel, Go Forth and Die Kinship – Pretty busy week, what with earning Kindred with both Malledhrim and Men of Dunland. She met with Saruman and declined his offer. She also shot up four levels to reach 75 (and be able to equip pocket items that are not XP boosts again.)
In non-specific character news – the three active members of the Shirriffs of Cydonia kinship on Nimrodel decided that we would leave that kinship behind (Okay, with most of our alts. We left enough in the kinship to keep it an active kinship.) and form a new kinship. After months of deliberation (and never being on at the same time for discussion) we agreed upon – Go Forth and Die. The shot down names were: Goblin Sausage; Not In the Face (Our three mains are a Guardian, Champion and Captain – Tank and off Tanks) and Ally of Oathbreaker Warrior (Our cappie has an odd sense of humor, and the best full name and title of the kinship, “Gungadain, Fool – Go Forth and Die”)

On Landroval my Warden Elryyk is continuing the Hytbold dailies and he’s Kinred with all of Rohan and also doing the envelope Anniversary quest. Raegemar the Burg got the war steed appearance. He’s the first one on Landroval (of mine) to get it. the rest are doing the daily envelope quest and some have also gotten the fireworks steed.

On Elendilmir I now have 9 level 85s. Everyone who doesn’t have the war steed appearance is doing the daily for that – so far 4 of mine there have it. Elrickwhitewolf is up to lvel 65 now and Thursday Night my level 85 Guard, Tolkyyn, was the first of mine to successfully complete North Cotton Farm, thanks to Ender & Michscot in my kin, The Pathfinders. Whoot!

    Happy hunting everyone.

It’s been a quiet week on Landroval, my home server, out on the edge of the wilds.

This week, hunter Kanatii (Kah-nah-tee) completed his 500th task and is now an official “Hot Shot”. Loremaster Etawaha (Eh-tah-wah-hah) launched enough fireworks to become an official “Master Blaster”.

Meanwhile, there are no happy endings in Dunland. Captain Siqua (See-quaah) and Loremaster Pandothrien (Cloak and Dagger kinship) were captured by Saruman’s forces while trying to assist those hapless Rangers. For a wizard, Saruman appears to be less than wise. He failed to take away our weapons. Since we were armed, we were able to ingratiate ourselves with the Orthanc uruks. Nothing puts an uruk into a good mood as much as a good fight. Eventually we were able to cut and explode our way out of Orthanc. While we were “away” it seems that the Rangers got locked up by a bunch of Dunlendings. I suppose we’ll have to go get them out. At times these Rangers seem like wayward children. They need a lot of looking after. Ever since Amdir lost his marbles, and went on an astounding killing spree I might add, I’ve been trying to keep these guys out of trouble but they always seem to find it again. I’m not so sure a “Ranger-King” is such a good idea if he’s anything like the rest of the hapless lads in green.

All in all, it was a grim end to an otherwise promising week which started with me being awarded the honor of “Kindred with the Men of Dunland.” While I’m generally sympathetic with the Dunlendings, it’s an honor that rings rather hollow now that most of them have thrown their lot in with Saruman. I’m afraid there really are no happy endings in Dunland.

    Siqua, World Renowned, Landroval

  6. Emma Says:

Finally got my Lady Dwarf Guard Azbarak Littlebottom of Eldar to 85, having took advantage of the XP bonus weekend. In the Khazad Guard Azagan the RK , Hain the Champ and Thlumpi the Tank jumped up to 46, smacked around a load of Angmarim, took on the Goblin Kings, danced on Bloodwings grave and started the class quests. Cebelia the little Hobbit Hunter found a warsteed cosmetic in a tardis envelope, which is kind of frustrating, because I’ll have to put on 40 levels to see what it looks like.

I totally discovered a new creature in The Shire! Pretty darn cool I think!

  8. mephet Says:

I started playing more again and got my elf hunter Eryndes (Landroval) up to level 44! Questing in Angmar and the Misty Mountains at the moment — the latter being a zone I’ve never quested in much before. :)

  9. TSU Says:

ON the week where WB/Turbine announced the level cap being raised to 95 in the future, Tsuhelm, Hunter on Windfola, my main character which I have played on and off for 2 years reached…lv40!

    Hey I am happy :)

    Hi CSTM

Aegraes of The Friends of Thorganby from Laurelin here

Anniversary? Whats that? Due to work, down time or the game just not logging me in (error 50000 fixed now) I have only been able to get about 5 hours total since the anniversary started… GO EU!!!

however I have been reading up on the new hobbit presents and I have a feeling I will be sending in a voice mail (as after a years of listening to CSTM I only noticed the voice mail button when goldenstar pointed it out last week, derp.)

anyway hopes for a voice mail next week about the wonders of skiner boxes in a MMO (warning english accent inbound)

blah blah blah warden still 20 rk still 60 :_( I did not even have a chance to run a single skirm with the kin

Have fun out there because I wont be

P.S. Sorry if this sound depressing but abit to much down time with not much compensation IMO

    Kiralynn of Rohan Says:

Last night I made it to level 85! This is the first time I have ever reached max level with a character in an MMO. Many thanks to everyone in the Lonely Mountain Band who helped me make it to the top!

  12. Rorgg Says:

Just call me Mister Horizontal Advancement again this week:

    * Got all 9 characters to have the Aiding the Eastemnet deed done (all the daily Hytbold quests at least once)
    * Eight of the 9 are up to Kin with all four Rohan factions, the last has two yet to go.
    * Got my third Thane completed, with the other 6 all making a full week’s progress.
    * Got my second character through the Decendant deed from Hengstacer’s Farm.
    * The primary character completed another 20 or so deeds, emptying out quest logs in Mirkwood and Dunland, and almost done with Bree-Land.

The one Bree-Land deed remaining is kind of maddening — 150, then 300 spiders in the Barrow of Taradan, which, at full pop, has something like 21 spiders in it. Ugh.
