Steed of Rhun Available Through June

June 2, 2013

LOTRO Store

The new store exclusive steed of June is the Steed of Rhûn. This steed appeared in the store starting on June 1st and will be available until June 30th.

Here is the full size screenshot Turbine has on their web site.

Rhun

The description of the horse in the store is:

This steed has barding made of sturdy leather banding and light cloth.

This mount is as fast (+68%) and same morale (250 HP) as the previous store exclusive mounts with the same price tag. This steed is a per character purchase so be sure you spend the Turbine Points on the character you want riding this.

Purchasing this steed will also allow you the use of the appearance items for your War-steed.

Store Location: Travel & Housing -> Mounts -> Store Exclusive
Levels: 5+
1,995 TP

I took a couple pictures of the war-steed model that is sitting in the stables in Snowbourn to compare what it looks like in game.

If you have purchased this mount and would like to share screenshots, please send us. We are particularly interested in which areas of the war-steed cosmetics dye.

A nice mount, but what a cost! I’d like it but don’t have enough pennies!

Looks nice. I was running by the stable in Eaworth on my way to Thornhope when I saw one and had to stop to inspect. I really like the look of it.

I’ve been searching for another warsteed look for either my RK or my LM (since my burglar is riding an RK steed that looks better than the burg steed). lol Anyway, once I see what dyes, this may mean that the search is over.

I actually already have the pieces of this set from opening a bunch of Riddermark-bound lootboxes (the level 80 ones) shortly after RoR launched. I wasn’t a huge fan of the saddle, so I replaced it with the one from the Steed of Night and added the gear from that set as well. http://i.imgur.com/p9r0M.jpg

I like the way they’ve added a rudimentary airbag system to the horses neck, is this a solution to injuries sustained under rubberbanding?

Saddles quite nice though the back looks quite high when there’s no rider.

I find it a nice horse, even the standard one. I wouldnt mind having the WS cosmetics. I will not however, as always, pay that price for one of the special mounts.

i have a confession to make. in the past, i have purchased 2 mounts from the store. the steed of night, when i was lvl 65 in enedwaith, and the beautiful white goat.
i am sad to see there is not even a talk of war-goats, as that would have been the most badass thing ever – but we’re slaves to the lore and the lore is quite fixed in our case, such is the burden of our people.
i have to say though, someone must really really like horses to buy month after month of not-that-impressive looking mounts. i mean, is it just me, or are these horses not all that great-looking?

I think the mounts look incredibly good in this game, as is all of the game’s artwork. I like how my female char does not have breasts which would put pornstars to shame. I like how armour actually looks as how I’d imagine it to look. Wish the game were half as good as the art though :)

I kid, I kid. Game is half as good, or at least good enough for me to enjoy it still. Know what would make me enjoy it more? WAR GOATS! Wouldn’t want to spend 1.995 on it though :)
