It’s starting to be quite chilly in the morning here in Michigan. This week I decided to try whipping up a warm filling breakfast!
Baked Peach Almond Oatmeal
Recipe: Two Peas and Their Pod
No troubles with the recipe this week. Was pretty straightforward, I didn’t cut myself or have any missing ingredients.
Pretty much just prepare wet ingredients, dry ingredients and prepare a baking pan with peaches at the bottom. Put it all together and bake. Easy peasy.
While it was baking it smelled so so good. When the oven timer went off, Merric was right behind me asking if it was done because the smell was so enticing.
The taste of it had some mixed reactions.
Baby Hobbit did not like it. She took a bite and shook her head and walked away. She says it was “fruity and oatmealy” but she didn’t want to eat it. I suspect this is because of the almonds.
I thought it was ok. It wasn’t bad tasting. I think it smelled more amazing than it actually was. I think it needed something more. Merric kept suggesting brown sugar, but it already had brown sugar in it. So I dunno. It was peachy oatmeal, not comfort food like I was kind of thinking it would be.
Merric loved it. He ate his, ate the rest of Baby Hobbit’s and then went for seconds. In fact I think there’s only maybe one serving of the recipe left after he got done with it. He says that it was “light and fruity with a good texture”. It was really healthy and something he said he’d love to eat post work-out.
