CSTM Gift Ideas List

November 27, 2013

It’s time to start planning your gift list for Christmas! Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for your geek or gaming enthusiast friend or are fishing for ideas to put on your own list, here are some pretty goodies we dig out for you!

Note that prices listed were what the items were listed for when we found them and they can change at any time so double check before your buy to make sure!

Aragorn and Arwen Salt and Pepper Shakers

$18.95 USD

I’m not exactly sure where the salt and pepper comes out (from their heads I suppose) but this is decorative, functional and Lord of the Rings!

There are other sets of salt and pepper shakers that are LOTR themed as well such as Gandalf and Saruman, Gollum and Samwise, Horseback with Legolas Gimli and Aragorn,  or Galadrial and Frodo.

Enchanted Forest Board Game

$18.59 USD

This is a board game Merric recently picked up and we’ve been playing together as a family. It’s a treasure hunt for fairy tale objects and requires some memory.

Its rules are simple enough that Baby Hobbit can join in although she’s not always great about keeping her treasure hunt findings a secret, it’s good fun. Recommended age for this game is 6-15 years old.

Build Your Own Sonic Screwdriver

$39.99 USD

Merric, Baby Hobbit and I are big Dr. Who fans. A build your own sonic screwdriver kit is just pure awesomeness in our book.

Red Sad Little Dragon on Medium Book/Box

$55.00 USD

Vraeden met this artist at a convention and I find her sad dragons positively charming!

The artist has these handmade dragon sculptures on other things as well but I really like the book boxes the best!

One Ring Earrings

$49.99 USD

Every lady needs a standard set of hoop earrings. No one said the hoop earrings couldn’t be designed after the One Ring from Lord of the Rings!

Merric, seriously. Buy me these. This is not a hint. This is a smack you in the face straight up Christmas request.

Tetris Sandwich Cutter

$7.71 USD

Baby Hobbit is not a fan of crusts on her sandwich so we’re always cutting them off. While she has no idea what Tetris is, this makes me want to cut the crust off my sandwiches, too!

UltrasaberUltrasabers Scorpion

$149.00+ USD

This is a Vraeden pick and if you read his posts you should not be surprised by this.

This site allows you to custom build your own lightsaber. Everything from color, blade shape and sounds are chosen by you.

Dr. Who Jewelry

$7.00+ USD

Totally geeky Etsy shop has a variety of Dr. Who themed jewelry that I’ve been oggling at.

Everything from hair clips to very beautiful and detailed necklaces can be found for your favorite Whovian!

The necklace pictured here is $55.00.

Game of Thrones Blanket

$19.99 USD

A blanket. Because – well you know – winter is coming.

Middle Earth Map Leggings Tights

$14.40 USD

I have no functional reason for why you want these or where it would be appropriate to wear them. I just think they pretty stinking cool.

Galileo Thermometer

$24.95 USD

It’s a decorative thermometer. Again pretty and functional wins hearts with these Hobbits.

As Vraeden explained this item to me, “Because, Science”.

Lords of Waterdeep

$6.99 USD

This is an iOS game port from a table top game. It is set in the advanced Dungeon and Dragons world of Forgotten Realms that allows up to four players to hire adventures, complete quests and conspire against one another to win the game.

This is a Merric pick for something he’s been playing recently.

Amazon has the original table top game available for $39.88.

ice2Ice, Sword of Eddard Stark

$300.00 USD

I haven’t been following the show but I did read the books so I do know what this replica sword is from.

This is a weapon of mass destruction much like the lightsaber so you can guess this was another Vraeden pick for the list.

Given it’s price, you must be a pretty good nerd all year long for Santa to bring you this!

LEGO Lord of the Rings Tower of Orthanc

$199.99 USD

I think it’s pretty self-explanatory why this is on the list and probably why you need it.
Vraeden suggested this one for the list. He already has it so I think partially it was to brag about the cool LEGO Orthanc he has and I do not.

Neverending Story iPad Cover

One of my favorite movies of all time, this iPad cover disguises your device into something much cooler.

Also available for iPad mini and iPad air for $60.95.

The Hobbit Smaug Desolation Art Print Poster

$4.82 USD

We all need this because it is awesome and purdy. Enough said!

$3.99 USD

If you are familiar with Mystery Science Theater 3000, you should also be aware of Rifftrax. The riffers from MST3K now sell mp3 audio files of their jokes that you can watch with your copy of the movie.

We love these and have purchased many Rifftrax over the years. Merric even went to a live event recently.

We encourage you to look at their library of Rifftrax but since we assume probably most of you already own the Lord of the Rings movies here are the direct links to those.

Guess Who Dr WhoGuess Who: Dr. Who Edition

Before you get your hopes up, this isn’t a real thing. BUT IT TOTALLY SHOULD BE, RIGHT?

Internet I command you to make this a thing I can buy!

This post contains some affiliate links meaning we would receive compensation should you purchase anything from our link. It doesn’t affect the pricing of the item sold. Know that we wouldn’t list it unless it is something we like and we thought you might like as well.

Awesome guide! I can’t say enough good things about the Enchanted Forest game. All the games made by that company are very high quality, and this one in particular was a huge hit with my son and his friends all through elementary school.

And where does one wear the Middle-earth tights? To the Hobbit movie, of course!

Hahaha, love the way you delicately give Merric hints about your Christmas wishlist. :) Happy holidays to you two (and baby hobbit!), miss you. xxx
