I’m always looking for a quick and easy game to play on my phone / tablet wherever I am and I have to tell you all about this game called 10000000 by EightyEight Games. It is available on both iOS and Android as well as on Steam. I played this on my iPad so that is where my screenshots come from.
It is a great mix of an RPG with a matching puzzle game which are both games categories I super enjoy playing! How does this mix work? It is surprisingly simple and really hard to put down!
You have a little man that is running through a dungeon at the top of the screen and your matches below affect his progress.
You run into a monster, you need to match swords to attack with melee or staves to attack with magic.
Run into a locked door or a treasure chest and you have to match the keys to unlock the door.
Other items boost your game in other ways. Matching shields increases your defenses, matching wood or stone give you materials to upgrade your castle. Matching bags can give you items which can use that are stored ready for use at the top of the screen.
When I started I was pretty slow at it only really able to focus on one part at a time but after a bit of practice, it really isn’t so hard to just glance up to see what is coming and see that you need to attack or are about to run into a locked door and shift back down to start finding those matches.
It isn’t all just the matching game though. Back in your castle you have rooms you have to build and upgrade from the wood and stone you’ve been collecting in the games. There’s a training room to spend your experience points (shown in purple text) and you can buy upgrades with your gold (yellow text).
Honestly for me it did not take me long to max out my entire castle but that was really primarily for me becoming hooked and playing a lot. Now that I have my castle fully built I can go into the alchemy lab and activate a potion to convert all my wood and stone collection to extra points.
There are rankings for dungeon difficulty that you will progress though and little mini-challenges to try to accomplish. For example to get a certain match chain series or to kill a monster using just your extra items you found in treasure chests.
The end goal is to score 10,000,000 points in a single game to earn your freedom. I’ve gotten close but I have not yet done it. If you like adventure games and matching puzzle games like I do, I recommend you check this game out!
If my description of the game didn’t make a whole lot of sense, check out this trailer to see the game in action!
